Actuarial Systems

TAS is an authorised user of the AXIS Actuarial System developed by Gilliland Gold and Young Consulting Inc. (www.ggy.com). This system allows full modeling of fixed-benefit, with-profit, unit-linked and interest-sensitive life, annuity and disability products and the associated assets. It is fully supported by GGY and constantly updated to ensure compliance with emerging professional and regulatory requirements. A rich array of features and utilities allow the system’s data to be accessed by users and non-users alike.

TAS uses Dell and HP 32- and 64-bit computers with a combined hard drive capacity of over 7TB. CPU speeds are between 1.6 and 3.2GHz. All these computers are networked with each other, run the Windows 7 Ultimate or Professional operating system, have Internet access and are protected with firewalls and anti-virus software which is continually updated.

All installed software is fully licensed and exists in multiple versions to ensure client compatibility.
 

Communications

Day-to-day client communication primarily uses e-mail and Skype (text, audio and video).

Secure exchange of large files is achieved through client-specific FTP sites which are password-protected.

Our telephone system allows messages to be left while the lines are in use, for calls to be forwarded to multiple numbers and for conference calling with up to 10 participants.

In addition to the standard postal service, TAS uses Federal Express to ship time-sensitive documents anywhere in the world on short notice.

The office operates under US Eastern time, with Daylight Savings Time applicable from March to October each year.
